Mary Sun (JE' 16) President
Mary is a junior in JE majoring in biology. As someone who is practically blind without glasses, she understands the importance of healthy eyes. Mary joined YSSP in order to provide free access to eye care for financially disadvantaged New Haven residents. When she has free time, you can find her watching Big Bang Theory or Wong Fu videos, hanging out with friends, and eating Chinese food.
Meran Liu (ES' 16) Outreach Chair
Meran is a junior in Ezra Stiles, majoring in biology. After working with eye clinics in Ghana to provide care to underprivileged patients this past summer, Meran was inspired to help increase access to eye care in New Haven with Sight Savers. She plans to go to medical school in the future, but for now, you can usually find her twirling in circles with the ballroom dance team or eating a week's worth of Nutella in one sitting.
Anabel Starosta (MC '17) Publicity Chair
Anabel is a prospective MCDB major planning to attend medical school. She joined YSSP because after spending a summer working with low-income blind children, she realized how important vision care is, and hopes to help make eye health part of New Haven residents’ priorities.
Stephanie Heung (CC' 15) Research Chair
Stephanie is a senior majoring in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, with interests in global health policy and reducing health inequities. She is very excited by the opportunity to work with underserved communities in New Haven through the Yale Sight Savers Program. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys traveling, photography, and playing with puppies.
